Black Woods Gold Moon
I love painting trees, and often I feel they are best portrayed abstractly. That's where I began with this imaginary woods, seen from within as a pure gold moon rises beyond the trees. I wanted to represent a feeling of secrecy in this painting, so I kept the paint mostly to black. In dreams I've often floated in such a woodland and feel the trees' protectiveness but also great power.
The original watercolor painting is 9 x 12"/23 x 30cm on heavy cotton watercolor paper and is ready to frame. Giclee print on archival paper is 9 x 12".
