Across the River - Traditional Landscape Painting
$ 650.00
This landscape painting was partly inspired by a local river (the Seekonk) that gets tidal flow from Narragansett Bay. When the flow from the river meets the tide coming in, the two currents cancel each other out and the surface is like glass. This view was captured on a November day with its typical overcast, standing at the edge of Swan Point Cemetery, where HP Lovecraft is buried. I love fall and its colors and moods. But this painting has another side to it; it refers to a dream I had about being guided and protected by a spirit teacher. I used the colors associated with those spirit teachers in the painting--grey, black, rust.
The original painting is oil on canvas, 24 x 24"/61 x 61cm with a traditional 3/4"/2cm profile and is ready to frame.
