The meteorite that landed on Nahum Gardener's farm transmitted something evil through the soil. It affected the plants first, giving them strange colors. The fruits that year were large, but they were bitter. The spheres in this abstract watercolor painting represent not only those fruits but the meteorite itself, inside of which was a sort of bubble that was popped by the investigating scientists. I also wanted to tie in to the historical meaning of bubbles in European oil paintings--as a symbol of the brevity of life.
