Spirits of Air
This surreal landscape painting depicts the spirits of Elemental Air as energy clothed in cloudy vapor, but it also shows a pale pink mist veiling the land. That mist represents the land's energy, which is often as invisible to us as spirits are. Sometimes it's just that we are not looking. Elemental Air is associated with the east, so I chose dawn as the painting's moment. Air is about moving and flight, so the spirits spin and drift. The idea of the Classical Elements arose in ancient Greece and continued to be important in European culture up through the Renaissance. They are still used in magic and witchcraft.
The giclee prints are on 100% cotton archival fine art paper, colors are matched to the original by the artist, and they are signed on the back. The original acrylic painting is 18 x 24"/46 x 61cm on wood panel with a 1.5" profile and is ready to hang.
