Moonshadows Oil Landscape Painting

$ 170.00

 One color I have not worked with much is purple, which I associate with shadows. I created this painting to depict the shadows thrown by a row of small shrubby trees next to a field. I love how mysterious such shadows are. I gave these shrubs a very swirling shape in honor of the more Impressionist vibe I felt this painting has. I did a lot of experimenting with the interaction of the ground (which is a kind of mint green and glints through here and there) and the colors of the sky and trees, which are either neutral or complementary colors (going for the kind of "vibration" that early 20th-century landscape painters often employed).

This is an oil painting on archival panel, ready to frame, 9 x 12".
