Moon Dream Landscape Painting
I love painting the moon and ripples on water. Combining them for me creates a potent symbol of dream, the process of divination, or of the unconscious--bringing forward aspects of the world that we don't normally acknowledge in the more mundane part of our day. I deliberately reversed the typical sky blue and violet clouds in this one to give the image a little extra strangeness, but the sky can also be seen as the colors of sunset. The row of shrubs that crowd the edge of the water act as sentries, perhaps guarding us from what is beyond them, like a circle of protection, or helping us maintain secrecy. The water reflects but also modifies the view of the sky, revealing the true sensuousness of the natural world.
The giclee prints are on 100% cotton archival fine art paper, colors are matched to the original by the artist, and they are signed on the back.
