Hidden Seascape Painting
I had other plans for this image when I began painting, but as I went along, the image resolved in a way different from my preconceived ideas. What originally was intended to be a setting for some veiled figures became the subject of the painting instead. What I feel I capture in this painting is both the sense of privacy and the feeling of connectedness with the natural and/or spiritual world that one can experience. That connectedness can happen when we are standing alone before the great ocean or when we journey spiritually to other places. Those times we feel, I believe, both how private is our own experience and at the same time, how unified we can truly be with the universe. That's why I feel there is nothing lonely about this image. It is instead a great welcome to a place from which to view and experience magic. This is truly a mystical landscape.
The giclee prints are on 100% cotton archival fine art paper, colors are matched to the original by the artist, and they are signed on the back. The original painting is 18 x 24"/46 x 61cm casein on heavy watercolor paper. It has been varnished so it can be displayed without any glass or mat but it does need a frame.
