Grey Clouds at Dawn
I love a lace of grey clouds over the sky and wanted to capture that in this painting of dawn. At such transitional times of day, the clouds can be underlit or backlit, and I love that fringe of light. This painting also shows what can be taken as negative (grey clouds, the receding darkness or night) or positive (white sun-bright clouds and blooming of daylight) coexist. In other paintings, such as Belly of the Beast and Grey Cloud, I have also tried to show both the dark and the light--depicting them not in struggle but simply as mutually existing. I think we have both in our lives and in our society.
The original acrylic painting is 16 x 20"/41 x 51cm on canvas. The giclee prints are on 100% cotton archival fine art paper, color-matched to the original by the artist, and signed on the back.
