Crone Land Landscape Painting
This rocky landscape painting was inspired by the concept of the Crone. Looking at images of various rock formations in Death Valley, I associated them with Saturnian energy, which in turn is connected to those of us in the fall or winter of our life. For women, that time is the Crone. Bones and dryness are aspects of this Saturnian energyand are well represented by dry, rocky areas. I have worked with Saturn for some years now and continue to be drawn to its manifestations on the Earth; that's why I made many attempts on this image before getting it right. I chose the colors of bone and blood as well as the prime Saturn color, indigo, for this painting. The rock formations are more like vertebrae than canyons. The steep canyon shape represents the depth of Crone energy; it is not on the surface of the Earth but runs deep into its bones. For me, a dry land of rocks is a Crone land, which is why I chose that title.
The giclee prints are on 100% cotton archival fine art paper, colors are matched to the original by the artist, and they are signed on the back.
