Belladonna Takes Over Painting and Print
Where I live there are a number of abandoned industrial buildings, and the way they slowly disintegrate is to me interesting--the triumph of the wild. I thought to combine that reclaiming with images of the witching herbs. In this case, it's belladonna. Because I'm also drawn to Surrealism, I allowed belladonna to take over this abandoned meat-packing plant in Surrealistic ways--giant berries, pipes morphed into stalks, tanks into flowers, and so on.
The original watercolor painting is 9 x 12"/23 x 30cm on heavy cotton watercolor paper and is ready to frame. Museum-quality giclee print on archival paper is 9 x 12"/23 x 30cm.
