Autumn Sunset Landscape Mixed Media Painting
Experimenting with various ways to achieve a good rich color in watercolor, I came up with this imaginary landscape of a red sunset through trees. I usually don't have a lot of luck with sunsets; in fact, I've read that they're one of the most difficult things to paint well. They often look fake or too garish. But I feel like this works.
I created this one-of-a-kind landscape painting with archival watercolor and cold wax on 100% cotton watercolor paper, so it's built to last. It is signed on the back. Shipped with tracking. It is 5 x 7"/13 x 18 cm, a standard size easy to find frames for. Because it is finished with cold wax, it does not need to be displayed behind glass. Cold wax deepens the colors and gives the work a soft sheen.
