October Sun on Cypress Oil Landscape Painting
€188,95
The pale October sun greets this cypress in its cemetery home. I love how cypress bark gets all sorts of creases and folds, like it's recording history in its form. A crease starts and travels up the tree, becoming deeper, perhaps curving, and then shallower until it is melded into the trunk's shape, where it disappears from our view as it recedes into the tree's memory. To me, this is how history can impact any living being. This tree is great at remembering, and as such I consider it a good guide. I based this painting on photos I took in a local cemetery.
The original oil painting is 9 x 12"/23 x 30cm on cotton canvas on a panel and is ready to frame.
