Industrial Ghosts Post-Industrial Landscape Oil Painting
This unusual landscape painting represents the combination of a post-industrial landscape (abandoned factory site) and its own memory of its past. These smokestacks on the material plane are empty, black shells, but in memory--or in their ghostly form--or in their dreams of their own past--they belch thick blankets of richly colored smoke and fire, affecting all around them. The red warning lights crawl up their black torsos like poisonous insects. This painting began as a rather sinister depiction of a New England necromancer's farm, complete with tower for raising up what can be put down again. It was that tower that went on to become the first of the four stacks.
The original oil painting is 18 x 36"/46 x 91cm on canvas with a traditional .75"/2cm profile.
