Girl With Red Horns Painting and Print

$ 575.00

I got the idea for this painting from a public domain photo of a girl from around 1900, and I made it my own. The red horns are there as a manifestation of her fury and perhaps also partly the cause of it. In her hands she holds photo of her missing father--the Greek god of war. You can tell she hates that dress, she hates having to sit in that chair and hold still for an image, and she probably hates her dad too. Sometimes, hate is an engine that keeps us alive. I know that this girl grew up to be an indomitable woman.

The original oil painting is 16 x 20"/41 x 51cm on cotton canvas with a traditional profile and is ready to frame. The giclee print is 16 x 20" on archival paper.
