Starry Wisdom Painting and Print

The Church of the Starry Wisdom features in the story "The Haunter of the Dark" by H.P. Lovecraft, where he uses "the black church" as the home of the Starry Wisdom sect, a religion based on the worship of interstellar deities, in particular, Nyarlathotep. He based the description of the church on a real church building that stood in Providence, RI. That church was often boarded up and was the source of strange noises, just as he describes in the story. In the story, something inhabited the church's tower--some interdimensional critter as well as a shew stone known as the Shining Trapezohedron, which had a subtle sort of radioactive glow. That's the light shining through the louvers in my painting. During a massive lightning storm, the thing in the tower escapes, and a witness to it was killed. The actual church in Providence has since been knocked down, but I found numerous photos of it, which allowed me to paint it.

The oil painting is on 11 x 14" canvas with traditional 7/8" profile and is ready to frame. The long-lasting giclee print is 11 x 14" on archival paper and is ready to frame.
