The Wanderer - Surreal Landscape Painting
$ 650.00
A spirit, perhaps an ancient being, a roaming soul, or the double of a witch traveling to the Sabbat, wanders over the night town, musing as they drift on silent currents of air and energy. Each lit window represents someone who believes they are alone, when in fact, we are all alone together.
This painting won Fourth Prize in the "Simply Watercolor" open juried show at the Rhode Island Watercolor Society, November 15-December 12, 2025. Currently on exhibit. Here are the comments of the juror (Keiko Tanabe) on this painting: "The surprising effect of granulating pigment is used - and clearly manipulated - with great sensitivity to create a compelling and atmospheric result. The bird’s-eye vantage point, along with the complex perspective, invites the viewer in and adds remarkable depth. It’s an exciting example of an emerging style, explored here with confidence and originality."
The original surreal landscape painting is 16 x 20" on heavy cotton watercolor paper and should be framed behind glass or acrylic.
