One approach to alchemy describes it as a process of removing impurities to achieve the ultimate Stone. The colors attached to this process go from black (Nigredo, aka The Black Crow or the Black Toad) to yellow (Citrinitas) to white (Albedo) to red (Rubedo). I showed this process as flames changing color as impurities are burned away and purified elements are united to achieve the Red Stone. I also separated the process into three flames, because three is an important number of alchemy.
